I worked in the newspaper advertising business for a bunch of years. I came to believe that those who were successful in the business relied on deadlines to make them work more efficiently.

I am definitely a deadline person. Give me a week to do something and I always have an excuse why I can't do it right now. Give me one hour and I get done in 45 minutes. Came handy when you get you get a 2 day notification to pack, clean house from the ceiling on down and have the moving van in front of your door 24 hours after notification.
