Allerton National Tropical Botanical Garden established in 1960. Robert Allerton, an Illinois person, wanted to create something from an old plantation.

Allerton also created gardens in Monticello, Illinois (only 25 minute drive from my house).

One might not expect a sprinkler in Hawaii, but there it is.

Went there once on a cruise ship tour. Went again, but were turned away since we were not on a ship's tour. Nuts!

That tree has been there a long time.

I did not write the name of these falls, but lots of other folks were there taking photos, so I did too.

We had rented a car and were just driving around, with no particular goal.

Red Crested Cardinal on the island of Kauai.

All the pictures are great, but the 'red-crested cardinal' is tops for me. I wasn't aware there were other kinds of cardinals; to be honest, if I had spotted this bird, even though it has the crest, the gray and white body would have fooled me.
