What with the bad weather and cancelled flights, my last visitors did not get out until Thursday. After their departure I went in the backyard to just fill the birdfeeders, after all, it did not storm, just a bit windy. I finally don't see double anymore, they let me out of the hospital this morning. Seems I got bonked on the head by a falling oakbranch. Our neighbor watched the whole thing, called the EMS and then my husband. Nothing broke, a giant knot on the tope of my head, still looks like I have one of those hairdoes anno 1900, and a bad concussion. It was not until yesterday evening that I did not see double and not dizzy walking. Despite all the contrary oppinions, a hard head got it's advantages.

OMG Anneliese! hard head doesn't cut it, I guess you'll have to invest in a hard hat! Or at least a helmet, they have some nice ones for bicyclers and for horse-riders :) Sorry that you got hurt, hope there are no after-effects, take care of yourself, please! and ein guten Rutsch ins Neues Jahr!

OMG, is right. What a freak accident. So glad you are home again and all seems to be well. Since it is New Years Ever, and things can get rowdy, take a note of the helmets in this video. Happy New Year, and what lilo said.

Anneliese, I'm so sorry to hear of your accident. Your devotion to our feathered friends went "above and beyond" just filling the feeders! Hope there aren't any more loose branches on that oak tree! Happy New Year to you and also to all of our GP friends!

Sorry you had an ouch. Get it checked again in the next couple of days, a bump on the head can be more than we realize.

I have a helmet, but who puts that thing on when all you want to do is fill a birdfeeder. Just was at the wrong spot at the wrong time. A couple of feet to the left or right, 30 seconds earlier or later and I would have been out of way. I like your helmets better than mine, west gardener. Mine is just of the standard yellow garden variety. Have a follow-up appointment at 08:30AM tomorrow.
