Spring!

This is a separate thread for those who can deal with photos.

I am SO looking forward to spring, and to me, that usually means yellow in the garden, followed by blue.

There are certain blooms that really announce spring to me and I'll share them here, hoping you will share those special plants that truly mean SPRING to you! These are from April 2006.

    OMG, I can't wait!!!!

Are those Mayapples Eden, near the sweet woodruff? I just love your gardens Monique- lilacs, the new hosta leaves and heucheras. The new growth on the evergreens. All the added garden decorations are terrific too.

    Meanwhile, brrrrr.

What a great thread this is turning out to be. Just what I needed today. Thanks everyone for taking the time to post these beautiful shots! Here's a couple more pictures of the mayapples. The first one is when they are first coming up and the second one is a closer shot of them. They always remind me of little Dr. Suess trees.

Love the emerging foliage, especially the Bloodroot and May Apples.

Here's my Daphne blooming last February Kathy, although I think the bud stage is beautiful too. Haven't ventured out back to see if it's blooming yet this year. I had no place to put it that was near the house, so I have to make a point to find it when it's in bloom. Oh, the scent. I bought it as a stick from Lowes 5 years ago, and it has survived and grown so nicely though I know they can die off quickly for no apparent reason!

I am loving all these pics, espacially the emerging shoots. I have daffodil bloom buds under the snow..awaiting a warm spell ! We always have crocus in this month ( maybe not this year? ). I don't remember when my May Apples and Bloodroot show new growth....probably in March, when we are surrounded with blooms, high and low !

Marie, I am so envious of your Hepatica! I love them. I had a paler variety, but lost it. I love the Corydalis too.

Cynthia, your pink Dogwood makes me more determined to get a pink one. I bought one from the Beautification Committee, but it only shows pink just as it is fading ! I would love a Magnolia also, but our late frosts usually wipe their blooms out.

Eden, I love your Pulmonaria, and Forget-me-nots !

Monique, is the blue in your first pic scilla?

I see so much beauty in all your pics....too much to comment on them all.I could add a lot of my own, but will wait until the 2007 show begins...:-)
