There was also a Henry Moore exhibit at NYBG, wonderful venue for these massive sculptures-they really looked like they belonged.

Wave Hill was unspeakably beautiful -- I leave it to better photographers to expess it; here are a couple of my favorite views:

Just looking over these again and what a treat to revisit these gardens.

Kathy, I'm really sad I didn't get to the children's garden to see those living sculptures! So very neat. I'm really glad you went and took pictures. Thanks for sharing these.

Cindy, beautiful bark on that tree in the first pic from Wave Hill. That's another thing I didn't see. I love seeing photos from everyone else's viewpoint. I also really love that second photo facing the trees. I shot that garden looking toward the river. Even though its the same garden it looks totally different in your lovely photograph. Great pics!

WEll done Saucy. You are doing a fabu-fabu job with that new camera! I especially love that vignette with the verbena and cannas. All are marvelous!

Great shots, Saucy! Love the photo of the Conservatory...nicely composed and I am just loving that caterpillar with the dark face, reddish body with the gray stripe down his back. Anyone happen to notice what plants they used?

Wonderful! I love the children's garden. Saucy, looks like you've taken to the new camera very well. The shot with the gazebo (?) column is a nice shot-so peaceful looking.

The cannas and the verbena is genius, good eye, Saucy! Cindy's second photo showing the large pot on the central axis surrounded by pencil cypress, the large pot contains a furcraea, right, aka Cuban hemp? (Sue on crutches in that heat, wow, she really must've been wiped out.)

Denise, Cindy and I spent time pondering that plant because neither one of us knew what it was. Though Agave like the foliage was quite thin (Phormium-ish) however there were spines on the leaf edges.I've googled Furcraea and I think you called it !

It was in my top 3, too, Kathy! Great shot of the group....a non plant person would wonder what on earth they're doing, LOL!

All the pictures are great! Jerri....you have to share, too :)

One of the best things about Wave Hill (aside from the plants, of course) was the views:

Anyone want to play "Name That Hat"?

Here is the huge lavender that made us all think of Martie:

Another succulent collection - A Denise Garden - I'm having climate envy!

Nice shots Wendy ! Hmmm, that hat looks oddly familiar.

Here is one I took of a grouping on one of the stairways.

The waterfall was beautiful in the "Rock Garden"

The sunny Rose garden where I didnt linger too long in the 95 degree heat

Great shots Monique! I really like the shot of Deanne, too!

It's really fun to see what each of us documented from our trip!

 o
RE: IU5 Day Two ...Wave Hill & NYBG

Ah yes, Wave Hill. Why did it take me so long to get there and when can I go back? I'm enjoying all the pictures but especially the ones that include our smiling faces.

Now that my mouse has received the computer version of by-pass surgery I am more readily able to appreciate the shots.

Thanks! I needed it.
