At the Farm...

I just HAD to copy Michelle and get outside to find the beauty of November in Ontario. It does lift the spirit to find beauty in the muted colors and the details.

So here are a few long distance views to start.

The swamp

{{gwi:185994}}

The pond

{{gwi:185995}}

Our barn

{{gwi:185996}}

Milkweed

{{gwi:185998}}

House

{{gwi:185999}}

And then close-up views.

Moss

{{gwi:186000}}

Grasses

{{gwi:186001}}

Colorful Weeds

{{gwi:186002}}

Sedum

{{gwi:186004}}

Hydrangea Limelight

{{gwi:186006}}

Aquilegia seedlings already!

{{gwi:186007}}

Looks like Christmas with the red and green of this hellebore.

{{gwi:186008}}

Zillions of baby hellebores this year.

{{gwi:186009}}

Euphorbia

{{gwi:186010}}

More grasses (I love them as you can tell...)

{{gwi:186011}}

Epimedium

{{gwi:186012}}

Shade grass

{{gwi:186013}}

Blooming Hellebore!

{{gwi:186014}}

Crocus Rose

{{gwi:186015}}

Another Euphorbia

{{gwi:186016}}

The parsley withstands lots of frost so is still useful.

{{gwi:186017}}

I'm partial to photos of clematis seeds.

{{gwi:186018}}

Ornamental grass again!

{{gwi:186019}}

Euonymus europeus

{{gwi:186020}}

I hope this Amsonia spreads next year in Reed's garden.

{{gwi:186021}}

A jolt of reality. This is a cotinus caged for winter. There are many caged shrubs about here.

{{gwi:186022}}

We have two tamarack trees and they have sweet little "pinecones".

{{gwi:186023}}

Two new spireas have nice colour.

{{gwi:186025}}

Check out the colour on this cornus 'Arctic Sun'!

{{gwi:186027}}

It's a gloomy day, but not windy or cold so all is well! Hope you enjoyed your virtual walk.

    A four season garden there for sure! You need a rabbit hunting companion for Phoebe:-) Get a Lhasa Apso if Misty's instincts are anything to go by! I need to go check my hellebores - I've seen several people comment on them blooming this fall...

    Marie, the farm is beautiful in every season. I enjoyed touring it in autumn. Lots still going on there. Thanks for sharing it.

    Bug, nice tour of your late fall garden. Both you and Michelle inspired me to go on a little tour of my own garden to see who is still producing. I have some primroses blooming, and my grasses are making interesting sounds when the winds blow. The other thing I noticed was that I can see the birds flying around a lot better after the leaves are pretty much gone. Thanks!!

    So beautiful Marie..I love the photos of the grasses; a particular favorite is the one featuring the house in the background. And your Sedum ! What will happen when winter arrives ?

    I hope you and Michelle continue to have photo thread duels throughout the fall and winter !

    Lots of beauty at your farm, Marie. I toured our yard recently, but did not find much. I didn't go out into the woods. This has to be the hardest year on my yard plants....Hopefully next year will be better.

    Beautiful, GB! Isn't it nice to be out in November with no white stuff to kick off your boots when you come indoors?

    I enjoyed the tour :)

    Kathy, the sedum do just fine through the winter winds and snows. They are made of sturdier stuff than I am!

    See this:
    Monday:
    Snow mixed with rain. Low minus 2C. High plus 2C.

    Tuesday:
    Periods of snow. Low minus 3C. High plus 2C.

    Still lots going on at your place too. Funny how several of the pictures you took look like they came from my own garden. I noticed the red and green of my Ivory Prince hellebores, the parsely, the spireas, Limelight, aquilegia seedlings,the sedums and the cages too. Its interesting how even the weeds can take on a pretty color at this time of year. Thanks for sharing.
