| I am planted ES in January a five gallon pot. I had to drive all the way to Sacramento to find one at Captial Nursery. My local nurseries do not stock them until later in the year. I bought the plant with just the beginnings of leaves showing, and now the flowers are appearing, and they are pink. I think the color is even nicer, then the pink ones shown in the Wayside Catlogue. |

| Ohhhh you are so lucky. I planted one last year and it is just 3" tall right now. (We loose all of the "old wood" over the winter around here.) |

| So Viola, do you think it will get bigger than 3"? I also planted one last year. We lost the "old wood" as well. I am a bit warmer than you are, but I also have only about 3- 6 inches of growth. I am worried that it will not get bigger.. So far I am unimpressed with endless summer. It was just a floppy mess last summer that never did anything, granted it was the first year... I'll give it the 3 years and it better leap, or it is OUT. |

| It is a new variety and time will tell how well it does in New England. Maybe it takes a while to get going. I have my fingers crossed. |

| Beautiful! Mine is about to bloom also. I can't wait! We just has a nice rain yesterday, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised today. Enjoy! |

The one in the front is Endless Summer. I forget where I got it last summer. Normally we have pink because of the alaline soil, so I think there is still some acid element from last year. The one in the back is from a florist last year. I am really surprised they are both still blue. This is in a bed that I filled with bought landscape mix. There is also a dark pink one in this bed, so I don't think it's the soil.

| Yours are so pretty. I had to cut mine back, because the flowers were fading and the stems were weak. But, it already has a lot of new growth, I think it will bloom again by the fall. |

They do need a lot of water! |

| I've gotta ask... how much room your hydrangeas have to spread in their space, and do you think that'll remain a good spot. The reason for asking is that I'd love to include a hydrangea in my part shade bed, but didn't think my bed would be wide enough. However, in the photos some of them are planted fairly close to a fence and/or building foundation. I also have no sense of scale, so it might be that they're planted 3+ feet away from objects. -Stephanie |

They are supposed to get 3 - 4 feet wide and 4 - 5 tall. So you could probably plant it 1 1/2 to 2 feet from a wall or fence. Mine has been in the ground since about March of this year and is about 2 high by 2 1/2 wide. The chain fence is about 5 feet from the plant. |
