Creepy thing in my soil or mulch

What are these things!! I was moving 2 Chocolate Snakeroots and discovered that these creepies are throughout my back bed that was put in last year. The bed is a mixture of soil and mushroom manure that had mulch on it last year and now more mulch down just last week. Everywhere I dig I find hundreds. All my plants seem to be doing fine and all the bulbs came up fine also.

I have never had anything like these in any of my other beds. Do I need to worry?

Thanks!!

I'd guess they are millipedes... although ours are usually a dark color. They feed on rotting organic matter, and are just one of the many organisms that help to break it down into soil. They don't harm plants.

Yes...a third opinion even...those are millipedes. Great helpers in the decomposing process...however they will sometimes chop a seedlings up now and then, but with all the other goodies in the mulch they'll be happy with just that :)
