Very pretty! What is the little purple flower in the background?

That's a variegated round-leaved mint bush, Prostanthera rotundifolium (don't quote me on the spelling of the Latin!)
There was a thread on gaillardias a few weeks back. Great plants, but I've cut at least this much that shows off the plant in the past two month to give its neighbors a chance for survival, which isn't a problem since it blooms so much. The pruning makes it sturdier and bushier too.

So glad to see your post!
I ordered some online, and they came as sticks.
So I'm so happy to see what they will hopefully become
next year. Just so hard to wait!
