Spreads quickly and chokes out anything in its path. Beautiful yellow blooms through early May to early June. 18-24' stalks that produce many blooms

My guess: Oenothera fruticosa, or Oenothera tetragona (aka sundrops) or an evening primrose look-a-like. Very invasive...

I have the same flowers - I do believe it is Oenothera Tetragona (sundrops) and I love it! yes, it spreads fast but I love the foliage in the winter - Mine is sort of maroonish and then turns green in the spring and also blooms from early May to sometime in June.

Jap Beetles also like it - but by that time they are almost finished. I always feel sad when mine are finished.
