| Oooh, Ahh Nancy Drew. You have solved the mystery of the solution to the boring yard! Lovely one and all. I took a photo of my perennial border last year entitled "perennial mayhem!" That is the only way to describe it, but I still enjoy the mass of plants and yours as well. |

| Beautiful!! I love how the blue spruce color plays off of the lilies! Is that a dwarf? |

| I have been looking for this thread and finally found it again!! I really want to find a blue spruce (that is a blue spruce, correct)? I love how yours anchors the garden and interacts with the colors. Please let me know the full name of it. Thanks! |

| Hi there. This is the first time I've "lurked" in the perennial forum and your second photo here has completely captivated me! "Gorgeous" is not even a strong enough word. I've always thought that white lilies were the only kind I liked, but your lavendar-colored ones have changed my mind. Can you tell us what they are? I'd love to add them in beside my Casablancas. The other flowers around them set them off beautifully and the sunlight in the photo makes them sparkle like jewels. Thank you for sharing such lovliness. |

| Hi annabeth What kind words!! Thank you so much...I'm quite overwhelmed :) The plants in the second photo are just one of those happy accidents -- I'm didn't realize that the phlox and the lilies would be in bloom at the same time. The phlox are just tall pink garden phlox and the lilies are 'Tom Pouce', I'm afraid the the colours in the photo are not quite accurate, the lilies are definitely pink with a yellowish stripe -- these colours have grown on me and now I'm quite happy with them. I too lovely white lilies, white Regal trumpets being my favourite -- I've been meaning to try Casablancas!, Thank you for taking the time to write... vicki |

I am a lurker also. Nancydrew, I live in Texas and things bloom a lot earlier for us. These bloomed in late Feb. - early March. Annabeth, I bought these lilies, last summer on the clearence table at Lowes. Of course I did not save the tags. You can't tell their size from theses pictures, but they are the size of most other lillies. they were about the size of a tea cup when I bought them, so I was really surprised at how big the blooms were this spring. In both pic. the black "thing" is a solar garden light, which will help you judge the lily blooms size.
In the first pic. you can't tell that the verbena is a pretty pink. It is called apple blossom. |

| I dug around and found a tag. If anyone is interested the lilies above are called LA hybrid, a cross breeding of Asiatic and Longiflorum. |

Nancy Drew, Thanks for letting me know the variety, I'll look up 'Tom Pouce' on the internet. Again, thanks for the beautiful pics. Native Texan, Thanks for your beautiful photos too. I don't think I have ever seen a Lily that bright red before. The reds usually seem very magenta-like to me. Is the photo color accurate? Even though it is hot here too, my Lilies (a white unknown Asiatic and the Oriental 'Casablanca') do not bloom until June and July, especially the Casablancas. They are not as vigorous as I'd like though-they usually send up one stem-spike that is topped with two to five flowers. I've seen some Lily plants here on the GW that, to me, are beyond belief in their size and abundance. Maybe I'll check out the LA Hybrids, yours look wonderful. |

| I also love the phlox and lilies, especially where the lily is the same shade as the phlox - a fantastic combination! Great photos! |
