| My favourite 'mortar and brick's nursery just released their 2012 on-line catalogue and there are a few that look interesting.
I do like Triloba and there is an offering called Prairie Gold. Agastache are wonderful bloomers and this nursery is showing one called Bolero. And finally there is a Leucanthemum I havent heard of called Laspider. |

| I like the looks of 'La Spider' as well. I grew some trial plants of Rudbeckia triloba 'Prairie Glow' last year -- a good strain. |
| coolplantsguy can you compare 'Prairie Glow' to the usual Triloba? |

| The typical form has straight yellow flowers, whereas 'Prairie Glow' has an assortment of yellows, oranges and bi-colours. |

| Rudbeckia 'Prairie Glow' has been on my wish list for awhile. I thought they offered seeds for that one but I haven't been able to find them. Someone mentioned purchasing seeds in an old thread from 08 and the article below says that seeds are available if you scroll down about halfway. I've only been able to find plants. |

| -Christie, I don't know how new it is, but there is also another neat looking Rudbeckia triloba cultivar called 'Red Sport' (sometimes misnamed 'Red Spot' I think...). It is a seed strain, so might be worth looking into if you can't find 'Prarie Glow' seeds and don't want to buy plants of it! I should be getting some seeds of them in a trade. I'm very excited about them, particularly since they are not the typical Rudbeckia gold/yellow, which isn't a favorite color of mine at all, lol! |
| UPDATE: With this hot weather my first year "Prairie Glow" has just started to flower...in advance of my garden variety 'Triloba'...not sure why as the regular 'Triloba' is an extra year older. Anyhow here are the first blooms: |

| rouge21, you have great taste! I looked up the Laspider Leucanthemum and Bolero Agastache and love both of them. This is my first year growing Agastache - I have Tutti Frutti and I love it. It's so much fun watching the bees and hummers around it all the time. The foliage smells good too. Thanks for posting about these new plants. Linda |

| Wow, that plant is a beauty! What's the name of your nursery, if I may ask? I'm always pleased to hear about great nurseries, so many are closing down. |
| Alas my favourite nursery, although very much an independent, is located in Ontario Canada (losthorizons.ca). I would be very disappointed if it were to leave us. |

| rouge, what a beauty! |
| Thank you a2zmom but as one often says "the picture does not do the plant justice" and this is true for Prairie Glow. The bi-colour petals on a triloba plant is striking. |
| That is a beauty! So what happens when this one self sows? What will the kids be like? Kevin |
| I have no idea Kevin! |

| Is that just one plant? Impressive! I think you should try to collect some seeds from it. |
| Yes Christie that is one plant put in the ground this past May. |
