New perennials in the pipeline

Check out my blog linked below regarding some new varieties that are in the pipeline.

This first post is about Marco van Noort, breeder of Geranium 'Jolly Bee' amongst others. While the genus Geranium is a specialty of his, it looks like he has branched out into Echinacea in recent years as well.

Watch the video to see some cool plants for 2011 and beyond.

More to come...

Looks like we've got some beautiful new introductions coming our way but I have to say you're not helping this plantaholic one little bit :o).

Part 2 posted this evening, featuring the latest from breeder Brent Horvath (Hebron, Illinois). The Andropogon gerardii 'Red Bull' looks amazing!

do you know sources for p. heaven scent, Andropogon gerardii 'Red Bull' and pennesetum red head?

i've had sedum lajos for three years now. it does hold the variegation better than most, although for me it's been pretty slow to increase.

Cody, Polemonium 'Heaven Scent' and Pennisetum 'Red Head' should be available at better retailers this spring as they've been available for a couple of years now. A Google search will likely reveal some mail-order firms if you're interested.

As for Andropogon 'Red Bull', I'm not aware of any availability other than Brent's Intrinsic Perennial Gardens in Hebron, Illinois. In a year or two, it should be more widely available.
