Oriental Poppy Helen Elizabeth

I have had my eye on this poppy for awhile for my collection as the White Flower Farm catalog says it is pink with no black spots. So, of course, I'm trying to find it less expensively elsewhere but it seems all the other online nurseries claim it is pink with a basal spot (which I am assuming is the black blotch at the base of the petals).

I was wondering if any of you had experience with this poppy and where you may have purchased Helen Elizabeth without the black blotch.

Here is one for $6.00. But I have never purchased from them before, nor do I have this specific poppy.

Here is a link that might be useful: humble acres

I grew Helen Elizabeth, but mine had a black spot. It was a lovely flower that I purchased from Wayside Gardens. I don't think you'll find a Helen Elizabeth without a black spot. I believe flowers are registered or copywritten, for a lack of the proper terms, with a particular name by a particular grower. By the way, there's an absolutely beautiful poppy the color of raspberry sherbet which I had in another garden and purchased from Wayside. In fact it may have been called Raspberry Sherbet. I just looked at the Wayside Gardens website and they don't sell Raspberry Sherbet or Helen Elizabeth now. However, they do have a raspberry colored poppy which changes shades, ending up a pretty pink. It's called Harlem. Good luck poppy hunting.

Thanks summerstar and sarah,

I have a couple Oriental pink poppies I started from seed last Spring so I am hoping that may satisfy my need for a pink one but if not, I have some sources now.
