    Catkin,
I am in zone 5 and have yellow loosestrife in my garden. It gets a little crazy with total sun exposure here, mine had sort of fleshy roots. I moved mine out of the sun because they were taking over. I started growing them in the shade. The shade did not affect the flowering here and the foliage looked better also. In the shade they also dont spread as easily. You can see them in the shade in the upper right hand corner of the picture.

I love all your picture guys. They are so optimistic, warm and colorful - especially when it is snowing outside (like right now)

gazania, Milkweed and Lobelia - do they overwinter for you?
I tried growing them, but they seem to be annuals in my zone 5 - they never come up in spring

Green, what gorgeous pictures. Everything looks so healthy and happy. Is that Salvia East Friesland in your early summer pic? I have EF in several places and love it. And the phlox is to die for.

Milkweed and Lobelia do overwinter for me, but the Lobelia seem short lived. I get about 3 summers out of it, but it is never as robust as I would like. The Milkweed I have that does best is Asclepia Incarnata, the pink variety. It does better in wetter conditions than the orange Asclepia Tuberosa.

I see a few garden accessories in some of these wonderful pictures. Our cat is a fixture out in our garden.

(He liked that "Walker's Low" so much that it is now plant heaven).

    green

    Beautiful flowers, beds, color combinations.

    gazania

Love the milkweed. The last photo (pink) is A. Incarnata, right? Georgeous. Did you grow it from seed?

Here is 'gooseneck' loosestrife (Lysimachia clethroides) - should be contained since it spreads.

Rina, yes the pink is incarnate. I started it from nursery plants. It reseeds itself quite well with no help from me. Easily controlled, not invasive at all. I move the seedlings to where I want them.

I love your perennial borders, gazania and green_go. How do do you get the flowers in the border to bloom at the same time?

Sherry, what a beautiful space you have there. Can I ask what type of tree is grown close to the bench?

rouge, I agree that your lavender and orange combo is perfect! your cat is too cute! Does he sit there every time you let him out?

This is my first attempt to post pictures, so please bear with me. I bought this hydrangea through the mail as a Forever and Forever red sensation. It is my favorite as it bloomed all summer and the last bloom was opening up at frost time. The bird bath picture has un-named orange day lily, easter lily, laura phlox and balloon flower among others.
The third is a mixture of perennial verbena, phlox, white obedient plant, liatris, vanilla strawberry hydrangea with a few annuals.

The border plant is perennial verbena. A friend gave it to me. It was just a single plant for her and she gave me a section of it. It was in a mulched bed and it never spread for her. For me it has spread quite rapidly. Some would not like it for that reason, but it is easy to control and I really like the color. It blooms for quite a long time and re-blooms if sheared back. One of my favorite plants.

Love the curly tips on this SW native, its one slow grower. Baby Nolina microcarpa that still has as a long way to go as far as filling in but its coming along.

Love seeing those pictures TR et al.

(Who would have thought that a couple of the longest threads would happen in what for most of us is the off season. There was an August into September 83 post thread titled "Phlox Paniculata").

aftermidnight, thank you, my husband has shot lots of sky photos from that corner, its proved to be a good subject. Here is one of my favorites. In actuality, I'm just trying to make this thread lo-o-o-onger because this isn't a garden shot.

What a a great set of 100+ posts but it is now hard to appreciate as GW will not break up long threads into multiple pages and so for me it takes too long to load and scroll through.

catkin _ You cleary started a thread that is being thoroughly enjoyed by all. Maybe after Rouges comment it is time for part 2 lol!
Your no ID Geranium looks like sanguineum var. striatum
junco1102 - Your Sedum is kamtschaticum. One of my favorites. Here is mine for comparison.
