RE: Robin sighting!

I've seen a lone robin hanging out in the Junipers at work for a couple of weeks now.

RE: Robin sighting!

Over the weekend I saw a whole flock of Robins on my lawn...there must have been at least 10 of them. I felt bad for them because there is nothing for them to eat! Maybe they are confused by all the cold weather down south? Poor little things. :(

RE: Robin sighting!

Yes, we don't get Robins until at least March here. You must have been into the liquor cabinet like Ken said lol.
I only wish I could see one now!

I swear I wasn't boozin'!!! LOL! I really did see them!

RE: Robin sighting!

We've had flocks of them for about a week now, at least two dozen coming to feed near a new raised bed covered with composting leaves, there must be lots of worms nearby. I'm sure they were driven ahead of the storm we got last Saturday with the southwest winds. The poor things were probably starving, I even saw them out at the winter feeder with the cardinals and purple finches. Even our year-round bluebird residents showed up there. With 5 inches of new snow on the ground I think they're desperate for food.

I can see it now...the bird spoke to you telepathically and said "don't feed me that cheap stuff you get at Home Depot. I want the good stuff!"

RE: Robin sighting!

Robins live here all year 'round. It was quite a sight, a few weeks ago, when we had many days of record breaking cold temperatures (single digits and low teens), watching them prance all over the frozen yard, as IF there were any worms to be had!

They'll start to become territorial in a few weeks, but they are still flocking now.

RE: Robin sighting!

We have them all winter. Evidently they fly north in the summer. I saw a huge flock of them last week. They don't seem to be getting ready to leave yet. Sorry...

Was out on a walk this cheerful brisk sunny afternoon and noticed a small flock of birds flitting around on someone's lawn. As I got closer, I was able to see was a flock of robins - yep, they're definitely back! :0)
