Suggestions for Hydrangea Fire & Ice companions?

I put in some itty bitty Bluestone Fire & Ice hydrangeas fall 2012, so I haven't seen them bloom yet. Hoping this year there will be a bit more to see. I'm a little unsure of what to plant in front of them, as I don't know how much time they spend pink versus red versus white. Anyone have good recommendations for a winning combo? There's a purple clematis and coreopsis moonbeam in the area. It's mostly sunny/part shade.

Stachys 'Helen Von Stein' would offer both color (silver) & textural contrast with hydrangea. It's a non-blooming lambs ear cultivar.
