Veronica 'Georgia Blue' winter damage

lincann

What a winter this has been here in Louisville and it can't be gone soon enough. Where so many things have kept their leaves through winters' past, the ice, snow and bitter temps this year have left everything withered and brown.

I have/had quite a few plantings of Veronica 'Georgia Blue' which stayed green all winter and occasionally would send out a beautiful little bloom or two in January before going great guns in February thru April. One of my absolute favorites due it's beautiful year around appearance. Now, not so much.

Every place I look there is nothing but a pile of dead leaves. Has anyone else had this experience? If I cut it back now is there a chance the roots are still good and it will come back. Would hate to lose this little guy !
