perennial sticker shock!

Hi, everyone! I have been out of touch for awhile, and just got my gardening catalogs out, and whew! I had sticker shock! I have ordered a lot from Bluestone in the past and been very satisfied w/ them, but prices have really gone up! Looking online the prices look like what I am used to paying for live plants bought locally (though I am sure I will find those prices have really increased also). I know gas prices are driving everything up, but do you have a favorite company you order from that you consider a good deal? I am in the southeast, so I would prefer to order from the south if possible. I would like to buy some agastache, echinacea, rudbeckia, and maybe gaura, in addition to other items that strike my fancy. (If you are interested in bulbs, I order from Gilbert H. Wild.) Thanks! Brandy

I've ordered twice from Santa Rosa Gardens in Florida and both times have been impressed not only by the quality of the plants they ship but also their outstanding customer service & great communications. They're also a top 30 seller on that watchd*g site we're not permitted to mention here.

Bluestone was also my "go to" place for mail order plants until their prices went through the roof. Santa Rosa Gardens has a couple of half price sales during the year and lots of special deals.

Gaura is incredibly easy to grow from seed. I winter sowed mine but they don't need cold stratification.
