I just noticed this yesterday. I have no idea what it is, and have no recollection of planting it. There is still some of last years dead growth under it.

At first I thought hydrangea.. but that's not quite right. Then I though lantana, but it doesn't look or smell like my others and its much further grown out than my others.

I'm honestly clueless what this might be.

Definitely something in the mint family. I'm not sure exactly what, though.

I don't think you can be definite about it being in the Labiatae. No stems or flowers are visible and the leaves are not sufficient to id the family. One possibility is Veronica spicata. Flowers will tell.
