I'd like to plant some of this beauty in my partial sun garden between my limelight hydrangea and a boxwood topiary. It would have about four feet in between to grow to its hearts content. I try to avoid invasive plants and was wondering if this plant would pose a problem next to these two other plants as well as wether it would move on to my grass. Is it an easy plant to keep in check or can it get out of hand easily? I'm also considering planting chelone turtlehead behind it. I'm in zone 5 Utah so it will be in dry weather. Thanks for any feed back!

No. It's sterile, so you will not get any self seeding with this one. By the way, chelones do better with moisture, so make sure it's not too dry where you place it.

It hasn't been the least bit "invasive" in my central Ohio garden. In fact, my clumps have been decreasing in size the last couple of years.

Mine sure isn't invasive. I had one die out on me and my other one is in the same spot for three or four years now. They mostly grow straight up so mine only takes about maybe a foot of space at the ground and three feet tall.

Anitamo, the chelone is planted in half sun and next to hydrangeas with two inches of compost so they are plenty moist. I planted them because they require moist soil and would do well with my hydrangeas and I love them! I' m glad to hear that agastache is not invasive because it looks gorgeous! Thanks guys!
