Veronica Agrestis

OK, here's another question for the perennial gardeners out there:

We are being eaten alive by veronica agrestis, which is an adorable little flower that loves to invade my perennial beds. I rip it out, over and over, but without hope that it won't come back. Mulch doesn't seem to stop it, although it will slow it down. The veronica just creeps up over the mulch. Makes it much easier to pull out, whole big networked mats of it come up at once.

Still, anyone know of someway to make it... go away?

It sounds like you have a lot of empty mulch. The lawn weed veronicas aren't pleased about shade, and don't do much under other plants.

More plants = less room for weeds.

Hmmm, maybe it's not veronica agrestis in the garden bed, then. (That's definitely what's in the lawn.) I try to have as little ground showing as possible; I'll take another look the next time I have to pull some up.

Thanks.
