| Hi all, My wife and I just bought a new home and are new to all of this we were hoping for a little help identifying this plant growing. Hopefully the photo attached is helpful and somebody can help us identify it. Is this also something we can transplant? Thanks all. |

| Usually peonies are moved and planted in the fall, though if they aren't bare root, they can be moved early spring. If you need to move it this spring, take lots of soil with it and don't damage the one leaf stalk. Here's a page from the U of RI, so relatively close to you, about care of peonies. |

| It may have a large root system if the "stump" on the "leaf stalk's" left is part of the peony. I agree, dig a good size hole, amend it and take lots of soil during transplant. Deb |
