I've avoided this company like the plague for years after reading about all the horrible experiences people have had and the crappy plants people have received. Well...... For some odd reason this winter, while in the midst of my perusing of the catalogs, I decided to place an order from them for 10 Ligustrum vulgare 'Cheyenne'. For $27.95, I didn't expect much, but boy am I surprised. The box arrived today. All of the plants are at least 2 feet high and budded right to their tips. The roots systems are better than good. The packaging was wonderful. I didn't order any perennials, but I'm sure impressed with these shrubs. Now, what to do with them? 7 inches of snow is heading our way for tonight. Even when the sun does come out, it's going to be a couple of weeks before I can do any digging. It's soggy out there. Kevin

i covered half my 5 acres from them.. never had any real problem with them .... i would wet some good potting media.. put a few inches in a 5 gallon pot.. stick the wad in .. all tied together ...... and put some more media in.. just to keep the roots moist ... and leave them in the garage.. in what i would call cold storage ... just enough media to NOT allow the roots to dry ... and cold enough to keep them in slow motion ... you can do the same thing in mother earth .... presuming they are zone appropriate.. and other things in the yard are at about the same point .... otherwise know as 'heeling then in' .... ken

I just got some named lilacs that look great ($10 a piece) some gooseberries and an apple. One of the gooseberries was on the small side but when I say that I mean it was closer to what I expected and not as big as the two other giants. The apple looked fine, don't really have much fruit tree experience to compare it to though.... Last year I ordered a double hellebore collection from them and it was a great price, great plants. Maybe they've changed? They also have some decent sales through the year to reward procratinators such as myself!

I'v had pretty good luck with Jung. The one time I received plants that were slimy with rot, a phone call had replacements sent quickly with no hassle from them. Every thing else over 20+ years has been just fine.

This is good news. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I've been looking for a decent-priced, mail order place for shrubs and based on my experience and what all of you have said, maybe I've found it. Before I ordered from Jungs, I was putting together an order from another source with a great reputation, but OMG! The shipping costs were equal to the cost of the plants themselves. I just can't do that, unless it's something I just have to have and can't purchase anywhere else. Kevin

This is my first time ordering from them. The plants were small but they are taking off, esp. the Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea! I received some decent side gladiolus too. Very happy with them. I would order from them again.
