What's the poop on Bowle's Gold sedge? Good cultivar or pass.

I grow Bowles Golden grass, millium effusum. It seeds about (but is easy to spot and pull), my elderly collie absolutely goes nuts for it, grazing like an ancient sheep. Yeah, I like this grass a lot. Carex haven't yet crossed my radar (suspect that might change) but, apart from the horrid rampant pendula, the little stripey ones are OK - they certainly increase a lot. It's kind of dull, though, along with the unaccountably popular ophiogon planiscapus. Oh yeah, there's that horrid dead looking one, Carex comans (gak!) After all that, not really very helpful - apols, mxk3

I tried it once; it died out quickly for me.

In my climate, it's wonderful - evergold, happy in part shade and liking our typically moist soils. Not sure it would perform the same in all climates and may not look its best at the lower part of its range, especially after winter or a long, hot & dry summer.
