Pink Evening Primrose - will mulch smother it?

Don't think I need to post pic but will if needed.

I have tons of it that has spread all over my garden over the past few years. This is fine with me. I love it.

However, I am just now getting my mulch down and don't know if I cover it up, will it just poke itself back thru the mulch? It's shredded mulch, not nuggets.

Right now the primrose is just covering the ground but no stems yet. In other words, it's pretty flat but full of leaves, like groundcover.

There is just so much that if I don't mulch overtop of it, I won't really be mulching very much of my garden.

Please advise ASAP since I'm wanting to do my mulch

Mulch away. It is a survivor. Here in Texas it is invasive.
If you want to get rid of any of it use vinegar or a broadleaf weed killer.

Kinds figured as much about surviving. It started from only a one quart pot and in just a few! Can see why it's considered

So far it plays nice with my other plants and garden scheme...cottage like. But will remember the vinegar trick!

Thanks again!!!
