I need to move perennials and butterfly bushes ...

I have to move them tomorrow or Sunday, to make room for plants. The butterfly bushes are not showing any new growth and I normally wait to see that before pruning. I've never tried to move anything this early. Does it matter at all if I don't see any growth? I can just move everything anyway, right and it's not going to interfere with it's ability to come back right? I think the biggest problem I'll have is seeing where everything is. I might miss something I guess or dig into it.
