Help newbie ID.

Hello all. Newbie gardener here. I have a big, heavily wooded yard that, as I clear out years and years of brush and discarded debris (grrrrrrrr), seems to have had some tiered gardens once upon a time. These blue guys were all that survived the previous owners. Any clue what they are? I live in western NJ.

Thanks,
Lori

Virginia bluebells. Gorgeous, aren't they!? They go dormant soon after flowering, though.

You are a bit ahead of me - I just noticed some buds on mine today. Very nice swath you have there!

Thanks!! I'm so glad that they bloomed. It would have been a shame if they were trampled or yanked by accident as we clean out all the junk around them. They are very pretty.
