| Hi everybody! Welcome back after a long winter:)
I had a few questions about when I can start transplanting plants. I want to transplant Euonymus, Sedum, and some Barberries this coming year, as soon as soon as I can. How early is this possible? The Barberries already have small leaves on them. Thank you all. |

| You can transplant as soon as the ground is workable, not frozen or waterlogged. I've been transplanting stuff for a month now. Generally with woody plants it's best to transplant when it's dormant, i.e. before it starts to leaf out or in the falls after it's stopped active growth, though it does depend some on the particular plant. As for herbaceous perennials, I think now is a great time to do it, I like March-April and October the best for dividing and transplanting. Have fun! |

| WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR.. a gong of some kind.. go get to work.. you are already a month behind in z5 .... in the best of circumstances .. so you dont forget.. its best to move a 'dormant' plant .. which loosely translated means .. as soon as the ground thaws ... the only reason to wait.. is if it dies to the ground.. and you want to make sure you know where it is.. before you go digging ... in regions where the ground doesnt freeze ... they can do it all winter long.. subject only to having water available for aftercare ... get to work!!!, and welcome back ... have fun ken |

| Thanks for the advice. I will get right to work, a gong would be pretty nice though lol. The ground is definitely thawed here. |
