Thanks for the reminder and posting the link to the story. Last fall I read a similar article which explained (to me) what was going on with mine the previous summer.
Just like the article says, the leaves on my impatiens started falling off, stems withered then collapsed. At the time I didn't know about the mildew problem and figured I must have done something wrong.
For color in my dappled shade, this year I'll plant caladium instead.
