this is the second one...

Thanks again everyone!

RE: Help ID'ing two plants

The first looks like a munched on Ajuga reptans, aka bugelweed, a common groundcover. And the second looks like Lamium....from that shot I'd guess Lamium purpureaum, an annual weed but there are also perennial lamiums that make handsome groundcovers too.

FYI, there is a plant ID forum on GW - 'Name That Plant!'

I think that the first one is yellow rocket, Barbarea vulgaris. I agree with gardengal about the second.

Here is a link that might be useful: VA Tech weed guide: Yellow Rocket, Barbarea vulgaris

RE: Help ID'ing two plants

Thanks! I knew there was a Plant ID forum but could not think of name (I was searching for "ID" and "identification" and couldn't find anything!)

The first one looked like ajuga of some kind to me, too, but I didn't want to transplant it somewhere, watering and caring for it, for it turn out to be a weed (not that I've done that before.... okay.... I might have veronica in the mini-green house... or it could be a weed.... Ugh)

Thanks again!
