Too late to plant Shasta Daisies ?

SInce it is the end of May I am afraid to plant the Shasta Daisies that I want (Snow Drop). Unless you would advise that now is fine - when would the optimum time at the end of the summer/early fall be to plant? I did not have much luck planting them last late spring/early summer - got too hot too fast in Greenville, SC and I lost 2 of the 3 I planted - despite my best efforts at appropriate planting, watering etc. Plus the only place I can find them is online - have not ventured into online plant purchasing yet so am even more hesitant.

Thanks for any advise!

plant them ... its not even June yet ...

crikey.. up here in MI.. i havent even planted my tender annuals yet.. and we had a frost last week ..

and what.. you think summer is over... lol ...

you are worrying too much ... if you can shade them for a few days.. maybe just a lawn chair.. for them to get the roots pumping before blistering sun.. that might help ...even better if you can do it with a little rain or a few cloudy days ...

harden them off properly first.. if grown indoors ...
