| Just bought one. I was thinking of placing it in dappled shade, but the soil can get a tad dry in the area I first picked. I do have Brunneras and Astilbes doing well there.
Thoughts anyone? Do you like your's? Where is it? Has it done well? Slug magnet? Deer magnet? |

| It's brand new for me too -- hope to plant one this spring, probably in dappled shade. If the Astilbe is doing well in that one spot, it can't be that dry. ;) |

| I am in zone 8 (South Carolina), have had it for 2 years in dry dappled shade that can get pretty hot in the summer. No slugs (too dry) or deer (it's 3 feet from the house). Great little plant. Unfortunately I am the only one who can see it since I planted a mislabeled Tiny Tim euphorbia on one side of it and crimson curls heuchera on the other. The euphorbia is huge and totally overshadows it unless I pull the flowers forward to see if it is still there (which I actually do). Great foliage colors. |

| cpg, The Astilbes are established and we live close to the Atlantic so we don't get really hot for long in the summer. Nice and cool helps them I find. If it gets too dry I sometimes will water. Thanks for the warning about slugs and deers brpinson. I have both so I will change the site to a bit closer to the house and get armed and ready for the slugs. :O) It is a nice plant foliage wise!! |

| I planted one last year. It is coming up nicely so far. I will try to post a pic shortly. |

| I just picked up two of these at the nursery the other day. I too am unsure where to place it re its sun requirements. Now that many of you have experience with it...how much shade can it take? |
