| I know zonal geraniums (Pelargoniums) are only really perennial in frost free areas but so many gardeners grow them at least seasonally, I thought this might be of interest :-)
The quest for a yellow flowered zonal geranium has been much like that of a 'black' rose......a very elusive goal. There have been some pretty close attempts but the coloring was not really yellow - more of a cream or buttermilk color. Thanks to a German breeding program, a true yellow zonal geranium has finally hit the market. 'First Yellow' is a true pale, lemony-butter yellow color. Rather than the dense clumping flowerheads of most zonals, this has smaller more airy flowers (much like those of the scented geranium species or the fancy-leafed forms) on a compact plant. The owner of my nursery visits the west coast PAC trials each year and brought back plugs - I couldn't resist :-) This is one zonal I'll be making the effort to carry over winter! Look for it this season at a nursery near you. |

| That's a beauty. Are these the ones with scented leaves? I was reading about those last week. |

| That just doesn't do it for me. When I think of geraniums I think of BRIGHT colors. This one is quite lackluster. Pass. |

| Since I detest most pelargoniums, I think I really like it |

| And yet another breakthrough, I think it's a beauty, love the subtle color. Annette |

| I am not a big pelargonium fan though find a few with variegated foliage interesting. Love that buttery colored bloom. With all the seedlings from ws and moving perennial holding beds I haven't paid much attention to those out at the garden centers. Will keep my eyes open for this one. |

| That is gorgeous! I love soft yellows. |
