Tree peony porn 2012

Not as spectacular as usual this year, I have one that didn't even set any buds. Wonder if it's due to the wonky weather this year, who knows. Oh well, they get better every year, no worries. No clue what the names are.

I love this color pink:

Someone's droppy from the rain:

Same cultivar as the one above, but this one gets more sun in another part of the yard:

Not putting on the usual spectacle this year, but still lovely nonetheless:

Here she is in a previous year:

Mxk3, I always enjoy this porn thread! I have noticed the same thing that they aren't as vigorous this year and I also have one that didn't get a single bud. Mine don't look close to blooming yet. If you don't mind, I'll add some pictures of other colors to this thread once they get going.

Gorgeous! I remember that fantastic last year picture of the white one.
I agree, the weather is weird this year and this affected the blooming.

Here are mine this year:

This one is in dappled shade. Gave me just one flower this year. What a flower though!

And these are relatives of Tree Peonies - Itoh hybrids:

You folks are truly enablers. Due to last year's thread, I bought my first tree peony last season. I don't expect bloom for a few seasons, but I can enjoy yours until mine blooms!

You will be glad you did! They are amazing. The blooming period is short, but they stay neat all season adding nice texture to perennial beds.

I have a small garden and very limited space, but I also got four more Itoh Peonies last fall - will have to get rid of some regular Peonies to squeeze Itoh. They are perfect landscaping plants.

I have Peonies blooming for more than 2 months in my garden. Tree Peonies bloom in April, herbaceous in May and early June, and Itoh fill the gap between herbaceous and TP. They also completely deer proof. Love them.

mxk3,
How old is your white one? Can't wait till mine will be that big :)

She's somewhere around 15 years old - grew her in a pot for several years, has been planted in that spot for 10 or 11 years.
