Cute Anemonella and Dwarf Forsythia

Anemonella thalictroides

These are really nice plants and easy to grow. Mine bloom for at least a month to 6 weeks and will sometimes rebloom in the fall. They will go dormant in summer if kept too dry, but still will return the following spring. About 5 inches tall and will reseed nicely. Note the tiny seedling in the lower left hand corner with the 1 tiny flower. I have mine in full morning sun.

Forsythia Show-Off Sugar Baby

This was a new plant last year and of course, like most shrubs the first season, hardly grew at all. I was really surprised to see the flower production this spring especially when you consider this plant is only 6 inches tall. Ultimate height is between 18 and 30 inches.

Forsythia are kind of iffy around here because the flower buds above the snow line often don't survive. Since this one is so short, I hope it does better.
