Haha. Pretty proud of myself over here. I divided some Iris in the fall. The bed looked awfully crowded. I was terrified and watched about 3,000 YouTube videos before I did it. Well, apparently I did something right because those that I divided are actually blooming now! Even after the deep winter! Granted, the transplants are about half as high as those that I didn't divide...but who cares!

Transplants blooming in their new home. On the opposite side of the walk. Ignore the weeds. I was too excited to pull them before this picture.

They look gorgeous! Your mountain bluets look nice and healthy too. Mine were nicely eaten by the rabbits this year. BBP I can totally relate to you on both those things, stress over dividing a plant, and the excitement from seeing it actually work. I am still very new to dividing and I always feel a bit anxious. Youtube is pretty amazing for all sorts of tasks, isn't it?

they look beautiful! I divided irises last fall and now have purple blooms everywhere in the garden. I am glad I divided mine as well. I didn't really know what I was doing back in fall as I am a fairly new gardener but I too did it right and now enjoy the results.

Great job with the iris. I have lots of half-high transplants this year too. They will be at their peak next year. You can thin out the other side of the clump this fall.
