Brown patches on some leaves. I get this every year and just wondered what it was. It hasn't killed anything but makes for an unsightly plant!

can you trace in there .... and tell if it was the first leaf out.. since its on the ground .. with fresher ones above.. it probably is.. and if so.. can you totally rule out frost/freeze.. weeks ago??? when it stays rather cool.. it can be a long time before the damage actually shows.. usually after a warm day ... ken

I thought about that ken, but I get leaves that do this sporatically all summer long. Hmmm... Well, I'll whip out the fungicide tomorrow (only use Bayer Disease Control and NOT the 3-in-1) and cut off those leaves. We'll see. At least they don't die and still look relatively good all season.

Not a disease. So forget the spray! More likely environmental. Light colored leaves are easily damaged during extra bright days, especially during spring but also continuing through summer.

My Citronelle has the exact same brown spots. I am thinking that it is getting too much sun, and am going to move to a shadier spot. Hopefully that will help.

Several of my light colored heuchera got very similar markings right after a 90 degree day in April...
