These are from years past when I was a bit hesitant to thin out anything.

We have a bridge in our driveway. I need to work on the 4 beds at each bridge post. They got way too out of control last year. These are some that I would like to Chelsea chop for height purposes. They overtake the bridge a bit at their full height.

Double rainbow looking out onto our neighbor's cornfield.

This looks very full to me now and I have since thinned out. Front walk view from porch.

One of my favorite pictures of all time.

Jeepers, I have been standing on my head and leaning sideways. Very nice pictures even if they are a bit up-side-down & side-wards.

take all cellphone/tablet photos in landscape mode with the bottom of your phone to your right and you will never have orientation issues.

Apologies for those of you struggling with upside down pictures. I have since learned the proper way to take them. Again, these are pictures from years past.
I'm working on a new post re: before and afters from thinning out some of the beds. This weekend I evicted a bunch of corn flowers. I ended up with a 5 foot tall pile of what I had pulled. They self seed like crazy. Deadheading lesson learned.
This long weekend I will be working on the patio bed. See last picture. Having a real problem this year with wild onions and creeping phlox everywhere. I like to see a bit of space in between things. Makes me appreciate each individual plant.

BBP - lets trade gardens - I'm jealous! Very beautiful!

Oh what idyllic surroundings - just gorgeous, BBP!

Thank you all for the kind words. It's a ton of work, but really worth it. In our opinion at least.
Emmamarine we have 2 dogs. Neither have much interest in the garden, although the poodle mix (male) does have an annoying habit of lifting his leg on a few bushes. Fortunately they are not my favorites and don't show signs of suffering (yet).
We feel that it's a little slice of paradise although we fear the day that the cornfield turns into a subdivision. No signs of development anywhere nearby yet but it seems a matter of time.
Show me some far away pictures of your gardens!

BBP, can I come hang out on your deck and soak in the view of your gardens?! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Hi thyme! Come on over! Actually my parents have a house in Lyme and routinely drive from there to OH. About 11 hours.

Goodness, that is gorgeous!! Is that cornflower in your last picture then? (clueless)
