Is there no hope for my hollyhocks/Geum??

So basically, I would like to know if there's any hope of my hollyhocks and my Mrs. Bradshaw Geum coming back? I purchased several 'Chaters Mix' hollyhocks last year and no signs of them coming back this year yet. The Mrs. Bradshaw Guem was starting to come back I think the beginning of last month I believe with new leaves coming up but I guess the cold killed them? Any chance it might come back still? I do believe the one hollyhock showed new leaves too but I cant remember lol just wondering if I should consider these goners just yet? Also if I plant new ones should I protect the new growth with the Geum next Spring? I really didn't protect anything but the seedlings and Annuals from the cold but everything else made it just fine!

These are two plants I'm worried about, mostly everything else seems to be just fine and coming up by now. It's a shame cuz I love double hollyhocks and haven't had any in a few years and this was my first experience with a Geum plant....

Yes they are - usually - I had one that came back a few years in a row, but for the most part don't count on it.

There are annual, biannuals and some short lived perennial hollyhocks and they usually dont last long in places that are too wet but i had them in a well drained locations and they were all seedlings when I planted them in fall so they should've survived. I never saw one flower from them lol just my luck...
