| I have had this Euphorbia for 2 years now. Half of it died, while the other half is healthy. Is it like butterfly bush blooming and grow on new growth but disregard the old ones?
should I trim down Euphorbia at a certain height to make sure it's ll nice and even looking. Right now, the plant looks very odd with half dead brown branches and the other half alive. Thanks |

| It would help to know which Euphorbia you have. There are many Eurphorbias with many different growth habits. |
|
| Sorry I forgot the name of it. It's the white one with slight green tint to it |

| It's difficult to make any kind of blanket statement about a genus that has sooooo many different types of presentation :-) But in general, hardy euphorbias bloom only once on a given stem. When that bloom is finished, you should cut the stem off at the base of the plant. Eventually, if left intact, that stem will wither and die, which sounds like what you are describing. This is pretty standard maintenance for evergreen species like characias (wulfenii), amygdaloides, xmartinii and other hybrids derived from these. New growth emerges from the base/root crown each year (usually shortly after the flowers appear) and this will replace the removed old growth and provide for next season's flowers. |

| Thank you all. Yes, gardengal, what you said is exactly what happens to my plant. Yes, I will cut the stem off at the base when the bloom is finished. THANK YOU |
