| Here's my favorite plant combo this year. It has no very bright colors and only pale, pastel colorings.
Echinacea 'Rainbow' - This my own hybrid. I have had it for three years. It survived the big flood last year. It's a keeper. It looks so good with these flowers! The petals of this Echinacea have yellow streaks in them and the backs of each petal are also yellow. They also have a darker pink ring around the center. Over time, the blooms get more pink. The backs get darker yellow. When the wind blows you can see all the colors at once. Nepeta 'Walker's Low' - I want this everywhere. Penstemons 'Dark Towers' and 'Mystica'-- Both amazing. Yucca 'Color Guard' - Love these. They tolerate being crowded by the other plants well. There's an 'Intrigue' rose in there too, but it isn't blooming much right now. It's also tolerating my crowding. I like things planted in groupings. I don't want to see any mulch in the future at all! |

| Here's an older Echinacea 'Rainbow' bloom in the wind. I hope this one lives for years. It has made it 3 so far! Fingers crossed! I really like Echinaceas with color-changing blooms. |

| That's very pretty! My echinacea's are not blooming yet. I am curious about the penstemon which I don't have. I was looking at Rocket's Red the other day at Lowes and wondering how that does around here. But my favorite combo is salvia Mystic Spires and New Gold Lantana. No picture, but it is stunning for months. My Walkers Lowe is gorgeous this year and I planted five more around the yard last week. I had some in partial shade for years and they were ok, but last year I moved them all to my sun perennial bed and what a difference that made. |

| I heard there is a perennial Lantana now to Zone 7. It was yellow. That sounds like a nice combo. I'm not so sure about the Rocket Red Penstemon. I do know that the best one I've grown is "Dark Towers.' I root cuttings of mine in water. |

| I agree with anitamo, great combination of color and texture. I like how most of the plants echo at least some of the colors in the flowers or foliage in another. Do you have a photo from a bit farther away? Also, since this seems to be such a great echinacea, can you propogate it asexually to be sure that you don't lose it? |
