| Spring has arrived. My garden has dozens of what appear to be perennials that are aggressively developing new shoots. The root system, or runners, are reddish-purple, about 3/16' to 1/4" in diameter and the shoots are coming up through the soil with green leaves and a slight purple hue. I don't remember seeing so many of these last summer, and I suspect that the they were introduced a few years ago as "fill" specimens to provide some color, but are now sprouting up everywhere. The local horticulturist thought they were Ligularia Punctata, but I could not find anything on-line with that name. There were many specimens of Ligularia, but not "Punctata". I would upload some photos but I can't figure out how to do that. I can e-mail them to anyone who is interested. |

| No idea what your plant is, but there's another post about lysimachia punctata. I'm wondering if your horticulturalist just mixed up his/her l's. |
