I have a russian sage that has heaved and is struggling, it IS growing, but I wonder if I can dig it and move it now? Or should I wait?

Thanks

I might dig it up and pot it and put it in shade and keep it watered until I thought it had established itself and then replant it. Only because this time of year, you might get sudden heat that it wouldn't appreciate. The alternative would be to replant it and then shade it where it is located for a week or more. Which is not as easy to do.

I've found that Russian Sage in my garden/climate/zone/soil does not like to be transplanted at all. So, when I do have to transplant it I cut it back so that the root system (or what's left of it) is supporting a lot less foliage. For me it takes a year or 2 for it to really bounce back. Best of luck!

I would just add some soil on top of where it is. It's late to be moving it.

I think I will just add some soil, I have two of these, in 2 different locations, and neither one is doing very well. One is about 7 years old, the other about 2. I think maybe it's to cold for them here. Although I have seen some in other gardens here that look great......sigh
