Amsonia hubrichtii 'Arkansas Blue Star'

I just bought a few of these because of the multi season interest. Does anyone have any experience with this plant, and if so does it live up to the 2011 Perennial Plant of the year status?

Also, is arching/flopping a problem?

I think this plant will look very nice in close vicinity to my sun loving Japanese maples...

Mine never flops. Upright and gorgeous in year three here at my house. I'm a HUGE fan...bought one and last year got 3 more. :)

I love the texture and the blue flowers. It stays upright and looks neat all summer. I don't get a lot of fall color since there is often a hard freeze before it fully develops that lovely gold. However, I don't regret my plants - they are quite lovely even without the fall color.

I planted a couple last year, they are just tiny this year and I want to move them closer to my Autumn Joy sedum. Hopefully, they'll make the move and in a few years I'll see what the fuss is all about.
