My mother came to visit and brought with her a plant she said she could not grow in her yard but she had saw it in a friends yard and it had pretty pink flowers. While at nursery I was able to find the name which is "winter glut" bergenia. does anyone grow this?

This bergenia is also sold as Bergenia cordifolia 'Winter Glow'. I have one in my garden, but it was only planted last year and is not very large yet. We didn't get enough of a chill for winter foliage color, but when it bloomed last year, the flowers were a deeper color than the more common bergenia pink. I like this plant, in no small part because I am not fond of pale pink flowers, but don't know yet how it will do in my area longer term.

I have had Bressingham Ruby bergenia for 8-10 years. The foliage does turn a beautiful burgundy that lasts all winter. It has never bloomed much, but I think its main attraction is as a foliage plant. At the end of this winter, deer chewed it to the ground and I thought it was a goner. Instead, it is rejuvenated with the biggest, shiniest leaves it has ever had!

I read up on German nursery web sites. It seems to grow slightly smaller than the average Bergwnia, flowers are said to be a deep magenta pink which IMO looks great, much better than the pinkish flowers of older types
