I have a Firewitch Dianthus that is growing near my driveway and it's gotten large enough so that a section of it is actually laying over onto the driveway and not on any soil at all but is blooming and doing fine. I would like to take the section that is laying over onto the driveway and transplant it. Can I just cut this section and lay it into some soil and water it and it will root and grow? If not, how would I go about this and when is the best time to do this?
