| I know of some cinquefoil that are like a 1-2 ft tall perennial like P atrosanguinea, and some that are a creeping ground cover like P 'Nana'. There is also a bush form, Potentilla fruticosa, very common around here. I don't think you have the bush form. Some are weeds, or wildflowers, depending on your proclivities. |

| How about Astrantia? Was this garden planted by somebody who knew something about perennials? |

| Not Astrantia. I agree that what we are seeing appears to be the work of someone who had some idea about plants. |

| Yes, and they had to move and I found it and now I'm learning about all these wonderful plants and hopefully I'll do good by them. Thank you all for your suggestions and help. |
