Just to clarify....these pictured perennials (and more unseen?) were permanently in your garden ie in the soil and you have dug them up for the purposes of taking them with you to your new home?
If so I take it that such items i.e. outdoor perennials were not part of the sales agreement ;)?

One reason that keeps me more tied to our current residence than would be the case otherwise is the amount of time and effort and most importantly the plants that I would necessarily have to leave behind. They are kind of like family ;).

correct, they were not even in containers when the house sold, and the tropicals were in the basement under lights

Excluding the tropicals about how many plants will you be digging out to take with you?
