| I received seeds for this in a swap I participated in, wintersowed them, and have tons of sprouts. It's time to plant them out, but can't find any information on their height.
Has anyone grown this particular poppy, that could tell me about their height when in bloom? I just finished planting another red poppy, called Oase, and afterwards found out it is taller than anticipated. Hoping this one is in the 18" range. Bonnie |

| I don't have this particular variety, so this is based on the 2 peony poppies I do have. The peony poppies are the most variable flowers in my garden. Since they reseed themselves everywhere, they are in all kinds of soil, light, and moisture, and vary from about 12" to over 3 ft. |

| Just so you know, this is an annual poppy :-) 18" is extremely conservative for Papaver somniferum - in my climate these can reach 6' but somewhere between 3' and 4' is more common. For some reason, this plant seems to be very attractive to aphids, so keep a watchful eye :-)) |
|
| Just to add to what Gardengal wrote - get them planted out asap because P somniferum forms a tap root. |

| So anywhere from 12" - 6'. Hmmm ... that doesn't narrow it down much, LOL. |
